Steven Gerrard is an ex-football player of England and Liverpool. Currently, he manages team Rangers from Scottish Premiership club. In Premier League, he played as a central midfield position for Liverpool. Gerrard also captained the club and also his national team England. He is often regarded as the best midfielders of all time. He scored 125 goals during his senior club career and 21 goals for England national team. Gerrard is the only football player who has scored in a final of the FA Cup, a final of the League Cup, a final of the UEFA Cup and a final of the UEFA Champions League. Moreover, he captained and won in each of these occasions.

Early Life of Steven Gerrard

Steven George Gerrard was born on 30th May, 1980. He was born in Whiston, Merseyside. While Gerrard was playing for Whiston Juniors in his hometown, one of the scout members of Liverpool noticed him. By the time he was just 9 years old. He then enrolled in Liverpool Academy.

Professional Career of Steven Gerrard

Gerrard, at the age of 17, signed his first ever professional contract with Liverpool. One year later, in a game against Blackburn Rovers on 29 November 1998, he made his professional debut as a last-minute replacement for Vegard Heggem. Gerrard scored first goal in 1999-2000 season but also suffered injuries. After his recovery, he showed his good performance in 2000-2001 season. His team won the FA Cup, Football League Cup, and the UEFA Cup. Similarly, he also won the PFA Young Player of the Year title. In 2003 October, he acted as the captain of the team and also extended contract for 4 years. In 2006 FA Cup Final, he led his team against West Ham united and scored two goals and won the match. He showed his captaincy and game performance very artistically. He rejected the opportunity to join Bayern Munich in 2011-12 season. In 2015, he joined LA Galaxy.

International Career

Steven Gerrard started his international career on May 21, 2000 against Ukraine. He also played Euro 2000, however, he played only one match. Gerrard captained England team during Euro 2012 and led his team up to Quarterfinals. He also led his team in 2014 World Cup, however, they were eliminated in group stages. He announced his retirement from international football on July 21, 2014.

Achievements and Personal Life

Overall, in his career, he helped Liverpool to win two FA Cups, three League Cups and one UEFA Champions League. Similarly, they also won one UEFA Cup and one UEFA Super Cup. Further, he won Ballon d’Or Bronze Award in 2005. Also, he won the UEFA Club Footballer of the Year. In 2018, Amazon created a documentary called “Make Us Dream” that details Gerrard ‘s life from a young child up to his post as a youth coach in Liverpool.He married Alex Curran, his girlfriend from his childhood in 2007. The couple have four children namely – Lilly-Ella, Lexie, Lourdes and son Lio. Steven Gerrard net worth is $90 million dollars.
