Randy Couture

Randy Couture is an actor, retired US Army Sergeant, former mixed martial artist and former collegiate and Greco-Roman wrestler. He has outstanding career in UFC. He has become a three-time UFC Heavyweight Champion, a twice UFC Light Heavyweight Champion, an interim UFC Light Heavyweight Champion, making him a six-time UFC Champion and a UFC 13 Heavyweight Tournament winner. Randy holds UFC Championship titles in two different division. He is first of seven different  athletes to hold the honor.

Early Life of Randy Couture

Randy Duane Couture was born on June 22, 1963 in Everett, Washington. He is born to Sharan Amelia (née King) and Edward Lewis “Ed” Couture.  He started his career in his school age. Randy went to senior wrestling when he won the state championship in his high school.

Professional Life

Couture fought in 16 title fights in total. He is tied with the new UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic to the record for the most wins in the UFC Heavyweight Championship bouts (6). He had the highest number of UFC title reigns, with six. His last fight against Lyoto Machida marked his 24th UFC fight. He’s Fourth UFC Hall of Fame participant. He is the only person over the age of 40 to have won a fight for the UFC title, four times. He’s one of the few MMA champions to gain back a title he ‘d lost, and was the first to get it done three times (twice at heavyweight, once at light heavyweight).

Couture was an alternate Olympic wrestling, and has stayed for most of his career in Corvallis, Oregon. There he worked as an assistant wrestling coach for Oregon State University and as a strength and conditioning coach. He set up Team Quest with Matt Lindland and Dan Henderson, a fighter training camp based in Gresham, Oregon, with coach Robert Folis as its head. He moved to Las Vegas in 2005, where he launched his own comprehensive gym chain, called Xtreme Couture. Randy collaborated with Bas Rutten in Hollywood , California, to open Legends Gym.

During last fight of his career, he agreed a six-fight contract that would overlap with his previous three-fight deal. He moved to the light heavyweight division once more. Couture then went on to fight against Brandon Ver, a match he won. He went on to fight Mark Coleman, James Toney and Lyoto Machida while still under his contract. Randy dominated James Toney.

Personal Life

Randy Couture had a three-time marriage in total. He was initially married in 1981 to a woman named Sharon. This couple got divorced in 1993. He went on to marry a woman named Tricia. The couple has three children together: Aimee, Caden and Ryan. This couple divorced later in 2005. He then went on to marry Kim Couture in 2006. Out of this marriage he has a step-child. The couple have divorced ever since. During his UFC career, Dana White was the president of UFC. They don’t have good relation with each other.
